There are multiple types of automations that you can create in Control4. Please follow the instructions below to create an automation using your Swidget Wi-Fi Devices.
- Navigate to the Programming tab on the bottom left of the Composer screen.
- Depending on the Swidget wiring Device and Insert combination, there are a multitude of trigger options (Device Variables/Events) that can initiate an automation - see list below. These include:
- Motion
- Energy
- Temperature
- Humidity
- Air Quality
- Device state
- and more
Choose one to see the parameters.
- For a motion rule, select the Swidget wiring device that has the motion sensor that you want to use and select iMotion from the list under Device Events. By default, When iMotion changes should be selected.
- Select the same device from above fro the Device Actions on the right and choose iMotion.
- Select Conditionals and choose Is True for when motion is sensed and Is False for when vacancy is sensed. Drag the [?] into the Script area in the center.
- Now choose the Swidget device that you want to turn control from the Device Actions window and choose a Command such as On.
- Drag the [?] into the Script area in the center underneath and indented to the Conditional you created in the last step. See screenshot.
- Add a corresponding script to turn Off the device when Motion is False.
Variables
Swidget devices have a number of monitoring capabilities. Host and Insert combinations can have more than 15 device variables that can be used for Control 4 programming.
Properties
Properties are fields for configuring or monitoring the Swidget drivers in Composer. These apply to all Hosts.
