Update your Swidget Wi-Fi Insert firmware by following these directions. Be sure to download the newest firmware here.
The following article pertains to all Swidget Wi-Fi Insert, with the exception of the Wi-Fi Control Module (WP100PBA) and Wi-Fi HD Camera Insert (WI007UWA).
Method 1 - Connected Insert
This method requires that your Insert be already connected to your local Wi-Fi network and that your smart device be connected to the same network. You will also require the IP address of the your device. For more information on local connection, please see this article.
1. Open your web browser and navigate to the address below (replace ### placeholder with device URL):
For Firmware 1.6.20 and newer
https://###.###.###.###/dashboard
For Firmware older than 1.6.20
https://###.###.###.###:80 OR https://###.###.###.###:90
2. Enter the Secret Key that you created when you provisioned the device.
3. Navigate to the Update panel and select Choose File.
4. Option 1 - Choose the firmware file that you would like to update and select Upload. Option 2 - select Request device perform update and select the firmware you would like to use.
Method 2 - Unpaired Insert
This method requires that your Insert is in Discovery Mode and has not been connected to your local Wi-Fi network.
1. To begin, Insert your Wi-Fi Insert into your wiring device. Once the Insert LED is flashing green you are ready to proceed.
Your Wi-Fi Insert is in Discovery Mode when it is flashing green. For security reasons, this mode will only be available for 5 minutes until it expires. To restart Discovery Mode, please remove your Insert and replace in your wiring device. For more information, please follow this article.
2. On your smart phone or tablet, navigate to the Wi-Fi Settings and connect to the network with Swidget in the name. Ex. Swidget-4c7525b2cc0c. Click Continue when prompted.
3. Once connected, open your web-browser and navigate to https://10.123.45.1/dashboard/main
4. Choose the firmware file that you would like to update and select Upload.
