This page provides the firmware file for Swidget Wi-Fi Inserts and Wi-Fi Control Modules, for use with the local (hotspot) firmware update process.
Do you need this page?
Most of the time, no. Firmware updates are delivered automatically through the Swidget app. When an update is available, a notification appears on the Settings gear on the Home screen, and you can tap Update beside the device, or select Update All.
You only need to download the firmware here if you are updating a device manually over its own Wi-Fi hotspot. The most common reason is a device that sat in storage for a long time and shipped on an older firmware build that cannot finish connecting to the Swidget cloud. In that case the device joins your Wi-Fi but stays offline in the app, and a local firmware update brings it back online.
Download
Download Wi-Fi firmware (1.6.20)
This file applies to all Swidget Wi-Fi Inserts, with the exception of the Wi-Fi Control Module (WP100PBA) and Wi-Fi HD Camera Insert (WI007UWA).
How to apply it
If your device is stuck offline after setup, follow Wi-Fi Insert Joined the Network but Stays Offline (Firmware Recovery) to update it over the device’s own Wi-Fi hotspot. Once the device is back online, the app will keep it up to date automatically. If you are deliberately running the device on the local API, see Swidget Local - Firmware Update instead.
If you are not sure which file you need, or you run into trouble during the update, contact us at support@swidget.com and we will be glad to help.
