Automation Recipe: Humidity Controlled Fan

Description: This recipe automatically turns on your Swidget-controlled bathroom fan when the humidity rises after a shower and automatically turns it off when humidity returns to normal.

Recipe:

Please make sure that you have downloaded the latest Swidget App from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.

You must also have installed one of the Swidget Devices and paired a Swidget Insert from the chart above.

  1. We will first create the humidity ON rule. Start by tapping the Automations icon at the bottom of the home screen.
  2. Tap Create Automation or the + sign.

  3. Tap Rule on the Automations screen and give your Rule a name.
  4. Tap Select Trigger and choose the Humidity (Icon Insert Humidity) icon for the Swidget Switch that is controlling your fan.
  5. Choose Humidity Change on the Select Trigger screen, and under If relative humidity... Increases by, enter 10% and 2 minutes for the humidity level and time. Tap Continue.

  6. Tap Add Action and choose the Switch that is controlling your bathroom fan.
  7. Choose Turn ON from the Select Action screen. Tap Continue.
  8. Tap Save Rule to have the Automation work all the time, or Add Start/End Times and/or specific days that you want it to operate.

  9. We will now create the humidity OFF rule. Tap the Automations icon at the bottom of the home screen.
  10. Tap Create Automation or the + sign.

  11. Tap Rule on the Automations screen and give your Rule a name.
  12. Tap Select Trigger and choose the Humidity (Icon-Insert-Humidity) icon for the Swidget Switch that is controlling your fan.
  13. Choose Humidity Change and under If relative humidity... Returns within, enter 5% and 5 minutes for the humidity level and time. Tap Continue.

  14. Tap Add Action and choose the Switch that is controlling your bathroom fan.
  15. Choose Turn OFF from the Select Action screen. Tap Continue.
  16. Tap Save Rule to have the Automation work all the time, or Add Start/End Times and/or specific days that you want it to operate.
