Does Swidget work with Apple HomeKit?
Not at this time. Swidget devices do not currently integrate with Apple HomeKit, and there are no immediate plans to add native HomeKit support. Swidget will not appear as an accessory in the Apple Home app.
Smart home platforms Swidget does support
Swidget Wi-Fi devices work with the following platforms today:
- Amazon Alexa (US and Canada)
- Google Home
- Home Assistant (Wi-Fi inserts, via the community-maintained HACS integration)
- Control4 (for professional installers)
Swidget Z-Wave inserts work with any Z-Wave hub, including SmartThings, Hubitat, and Home Assistant (Z-Wave JS). See Pairing a Swidget Z-Wave Insert with Home Assistant.
If you use Home Assistant
If you already run Home Assistant, you can connect your Swidget Wi-Fi devices to it and then expose them to the Apple Home app using Home Assistant's built-in HomeKit Bridge. This is a Home Assistant feature rather than an official Swidget integration, so it is best suited to users who are already comfortable with Home Assistant.
What about Matter?
The Apple Home app works with accessories that support the Matter standard. Matter is on Swidget's longer-term roadmap, though we do not have a release date to share yet. We will update our Help Center as new platform support becomes available.
