Swidget outlets need a load of more than 7 watts before they report a power reading. If whatever is plugged in draws less than that, the app shows no power being used, even though the outlet is powering the device normally.
Plenty of everyday things sit under 7 watts, including a phone charger, a clock, a single LED bulb, or anything sitting in standby. So a reading of zero on its own does not mean the outlet is faulty.
How to check
Plug in something that clearly draws more, such as a table lamp with a regular bulb, and watch the reading in the app. If a larger load reports normally, the outlet is working and the original device is simply below the threshold.
If nothing registers even with a large load, contact us and let us know what you tested with.
For what else the outlets can do, see About Swidget Outlets (15A and 20A).
