If one or more of an Insert's readings are well away from what you would expect, the Insert's face plate may be sitting slightly out of position.
Try this first
- Remove the Insert from the host device
- Check the front covering for misalignment or damage
- Straighten it if needed, then push the Insert back in
- Swipe down on the app's Home screen to refresh your device library
If the readings are only a little out
A small difference is usually not a fault. Temperature especially is affected by where the host device is installed, and a sensor needs time to settle after being fitted.
- Swidget temperature sensor doesn't match other temperature sensors covers the common causes, including installation on an exterior wall or near a vent
- Calibrating your temperature sensor if you want to correct it against a thermometer you trust
- Temperature Offset and Humidity Offset to apply a fixed correction
If a reading is still clearly wrong after all that, contact us and tell us which Insert it is and what the reading should be.
