This applies in the specific case where you created a Swidget app account, did not complete the email verification step, and have also forgotten the password you used to sign up. To get in, you first verify the account, then reset the password.
Why this happens: when you register, Swidget emails you a verification code (subject "Swidget Account Verification Code"). Until that code is entered, the account is not fully active, so the app may reject your email and password at login even if they are correct.
Steps:
- Open the Swidget app to the login screen.
- Enter the email address you used to register, and enter "password" as the password.
- Enter the verification code that was emailed to you when you registered. If you cannot find it, tap Resend confirmation code to get a new one.
- You will see a "Not Authorized. Incorrect username or password" message. This is expected.
- Tap Forgot Password?
- Enter your email address and tap Send.
- Get the new code from your email and enter it in the app.
- Create a new password (at least 8 characters), enter it twice, then tap Send.
- You will see a success message. Tap OK. You can now log in with your new password.
If codes stop working: if you entered the code incorrectly several times, the app may temporarily stop accepting codes for your account, and requesting a new code may not clear it right away. Do not create a second account to get around this, as it does not fix the original one. Contact support@swidget.com from the account email and we can confirm your account so you can finish signing in.
